String Intensive

The University of Oregon String Intensive (UOSI) is a comprehensive, full-day summer camp focused on the study and performance of solo, chamber music, and orchestra repertoire. Open to advanced high school string players (grades 9–12: current 8th graders are welcome to apply), we accept violin, viola, cello, and double bass students. Students are arranged into chamber groups, receive multiple private lessons from faculty members, and perform individually in masterclasses and evening solo recitals.

String Intensive participants…

…immerse themselves in an extensive string training program led by internationally respected, expert faculty

.…perform exceptional string literature

.…prepare for a musical life after high school and gain perspective on the collegiate experience while on the University of Oregon campus

.…distinguish themselves as exceptional candidates on college applications

.…make life-long friends.

UOSI is generously funded by private support, including the David and Amy Fulton Foundation.
